A lovely two bedroom cottage sleeping up to four guests or five with additional bed and is part of a collection of seven cottages sleeping from a choice of two to seven guests or up to 30 guests for those family celebrations and get togethers with friends. It is in a superb location with great views of the Eden Valley, Lake District hills and the North Pennines. It is a fully equipped self-catering cottage which comes complete with bed linen, duvets, hand towels and bath sheets for your convenience. We are easily accessible from all major road networks which saves times while on those short breaks and we have ample private off-street parking.
We have an adjacent field with separated children's play area and dog exercise field as well as a room with pool table and washing and drying facilities.
We have walks from the door and many more with in a few minutes and for those who prefer two wheels we are located on two national cycle routes or located on a circular 40 mile off road route for the more adventuress.
we are located on site and are always here to offer as little or as much advice as you wish regarding, pubs, restaurants, walking, activities, places to visit. child friendly locations and will gladly arrange bookings or reservations in advance or while you are here.
The historic market town of Appleby in Westmorland in the beautiful Eden Valley makes an excellent centre for exploring the surrounding area and soaking up the scenery.
Appleby-in-Westmorland is a town in Cumbria, in North West England. It is situated within a loop of the River Eden.It is in the historic county of Westmorland.
Appleby's main industry is tourism, due to its history, remote location, scenery and closeness to the Lake District, the North Pennines, Swaledale and Howgill Fells.
Appleby’s uncommonly wide main street, Boroughgate, has been described as one of the finest in England. It runs from the north end, by the cloisters which were designed by Sir Robert Smirke in 1811, to the south end, by the Castle entrance.
Appleby has a railway station on the Settle-Carlisle Railway, and is a good place to see the steam trains that often pass on Saturdays. Appleby is on or near to the Cumbria Cycle Way, the Westmorland Way, the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast Walk.

And of course there are the lakes themselves: glorious Windermere, pretty Derwent Water and beautiful Ullswater are just some of the highlights of our Cumbria and the Lakes cottage holidays.
For the historically minded, Cumbria offers a wealth of Celtic monuments, Roman remains, stately homes and ruined abbeys. Carlisle still has some of its ancient walls standing, as well as a Norman castle, and the western part of Hadrian’s Wall is nearby. Other places of interest include Penrith, with its castle and remarkably unchanged market square; Keswick, which was once the centre of pencil manufacturing; the busy market town of Kendal and Cockermouth, Wordsworth’s birthplace
